Sheriff Patrick Kelly has announced a new program, Sheriffs Telephone Assistance Reassurance program, (S.T.A.R.). The STAR program will replace the old RUOK program and will be hosted through the Sheriff’s Office Seniors and Law enforcement Together, “S.A.L.T” division. The program RUOK, was a computerize program that called an elderly or homebound individual each day at a pre-arranged time.
Sheriff Patrick Kelly said, “The purpose of the STAR program eases the concerns of family and friends that may have difficulty in maintaining consistent, reliable communications with their loved ones. The STAR program generates a controlled, personal call daily to check on the well being of the one enrolled from a caring member of the S.A.L.T team, under the direction of sheriff’s office personnel.”
An introductory meeting will take place between a representative of the Sheriffs Office and the individual enrolled as well as a trusted family member or friend.
If you have a elderly family member, homebound individual or medically disabled person and would like further information or to enroll in the sheriffs STAR program, contact Brynne at the Sheriffs office at 740-593-6633 or email@example.com.
