Brynne Freed Morris
Brynne Freed Morris was born and raised in Butler, Ohio in Richland County. She graduated from Clear Fork High School in 2007 and moved to Athens County to attend Hocking College. Brynne started her career working as a dispatcher at Hocking College Police Department while attending classes. She has been commissioned with the Sheriff’s Office since 2009, and has had the opportunity to work with several surrounding agencies in Athens County.
Brynne proudly comes from a family of law enforcement. Her grandmother Joanne Freed graduated Knox County Sheriff’s Academy in 1977 and worked as a dispatcher for the Butler Police Department for 13 years. Her grandfather Royal Freed graduated Richland County Sheriff’s Academy in 1973. Royal worked for the Butler Police Department and later as a Lieutenant for Richland County until 1987. Brynne enjoys working in law enforcement and when in uniform, can sometimes be found wearing Royal’s badge from 1973.
Brynne met her husband in Athens County, and they live in The Plains with their two German Shepherds. She currently works for the Sheriff’s Office processing Concealed Carry Applications and assisting others with general duties around the office.
