Domestic Violence Advocate
I graduated from Alexander High School in 1994. I have been a registered advocate through the Ohio Advocate Network for sixe years. I am married to Stephen Crook and live in Albany with my twin girls. My hobby is taking pictures and I love shopping with my girls.
I have been with the Sheriff’s Office since April, 1, 2013. I have worked for Athens County as a domestic violence advocate for sixe years. I offer primary and indispensable “first response” for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. I am dedicated and committed towards the safety and security of the community. I strive to enhance the quality of life within the county by working cooperatively with residents and businesses of Athens and neighboring communities.
As a victim advocated I can provide immediate crisis intervention, photograph physical injuries, assist victims with writing impact statements, discus and implement a safety plan nad provide support that empowers victims to leave abusive and controlling relationships. I can also assist in obtaining temporary and civil protection orders and applicable victim compensation prior to submission for prosecution.
I accompany victims on the court process and offer reassurance for a positive outcome.
I hope to offer empowerment to change their circumstances and facilitate a sustainable and better quality of life for these victims and their children.
