Athens County Sheriff’s Police Academy
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office Will be offering a Sheriff’s Academy in July 2013. The application are available at the Athens County Sheriff’s Office or by emailing Captain Bryan E. Cooper at bcooper@athenssheriff.com. The Sheriff’s Academy offered is run through the Ohio Police Officer Training Commission. Completion of the academy certifies men and women to work as a Police Officer any where in the State of Ohio. The academy is run during the evening hours which allows anyone that has a full time day job to attend. The schedule for the academy is Monday through Thursday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, Fridays there are no classes, Saturdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and some Sundays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The academy lasts approximately five months and are scheduled to begin in the month’s of January and July.
